User Experience Architect

Confluence seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual to drive development of indispensable software that meets user and stakeholder needs. A user experience architect is responsible for the product and process design: the form and function of the user interface and workflow, its aesthetics, and the overall product usability, (not the technical architecture). He or she is responsible for understanding the goals of the consumer for the product and to create innovative designs that meet those goals. A user experience architect develops the personas and usage scenarios for the customer requirements. He or she will also develop prototypes and/or storyboards and conduct usability testing at several stages in the project life cycle.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead the project user experience design in coordination with technical authors, product owners, solution architects, and software engineers.
  • Conduct on-site client research.
  • Analyze system users focusing on their goals, challenges, and environments.
  • Participate in and facilitate brainstorming and work sessions.
  • Communicate, defend, and build consensus around experience architecture and interaction design direction. Create innovative, fit-to-purpose interfaces for a variety of applications.
  • Create and maintain prototypes and workflow analysis to be included in specifications.
  • Conduct pre-release testing to ensure proper implementation of user interface design.  Enter and address defects associated to design.
  • Promote user-centered design across the organization for the development of effective solutions.
  • Responsible for the following activity as part of the Pragmatic Marketing Framework:
    • User Personas - Define the archetypical users of your products or services.
  • Attend all required project meetings to collaborate and discuss with fellow team members regarding previous, current and upcoming tasks.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree or equivalent experience in human computer interaction, user interface design methodologies, or interaction design.
  • Six or more years of information architecture or professional design experience.

Essential Skills

  • Keen understanding of usability principles and existing application frameworks.
  • Experience quickly producing elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, design prototypes, and other artifacts.
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Increased level of responsibilities, as value-added team member. 
  • Ability to travel up to 20 percent.
  • Collaborative working style that values team success over personal accomplishments.
  • Strong knowledge on project, take ownership and accountability, nurture team, working with and starting new teams. 
  • Strong understanding of the business model, how it applies to current position, what needs to be done to provide the greatest value, and how to leverage strengths at this level which requires building competencies and focusing on the right things.
